How much weight can the corrugated board withstand?
We recommend our E flute primarily for product packaging or for shipping packaging with a low shipping weight. We recommend our B flute for large product packaging or for shipping packaging with a medium shipping weight. We recommend our EB flute exclusively for large shipping boxes with a heavy shipping weight.
  • E flute: up to 7 kilos
  • B flute: up to 14 kilos
  • EB flute: up to 32 kilos
Do I have to pay for the punching tool again if I order again?
If you are charged "One-time tool costs" in our configurator, these are normally only incurred once. Our system saves existing punches and does not charge them a second time. However, if the wear of a punch is so high that a new cutting die has to be ordered, these costs will be charged again with your next order. The service life of a die depends primarily on the number of shipping cartons punched (experience shows >250,000).

What do I need a protective coating for and what is his function?
A protective coating has various functions. On the one hand, it protects your print image from external influences such as scratches, liquids or dirt, and on the other hand, it ensures an even more beautiful print image with a glossy or optional matte look.
I would like a particularly small shipping box - what do I need to consider?
In our configurator you can configure both very large and very small shipping boxes. All sizes that can be manufactured from a technical point of view can be configured. Depending on the size and material, however, there may be problems in handling and packaging. Above all, we recommend the EB flute exclusively for medium to large cartons.
Can I choose a neutral return address?
We have optimized our order process especially for resellers and offer you the possibility that we send your orders neutral (without our branding on package or delivery bill) to your customers. Simply select "Neutral shipping / delivery bill" in the order process / check-out.

Cardboard blanks are essential in the mail order business. While a cardboard box is of course necessary for shipping, it is usually not sufficient on its own to also ensure safe transport. This is where carton blanks come into play.

Was ist ein FEFCO 0110?

The FEFCO Code is valid internationally. It classifies various packaging materials made of (corrugated) cardboard into categories. The aim of this code was to facilitate communication about different packaging products. For this reason, each type of packaging has been assigned a four-digit number by which it can be clearly classified. FEFCO 0110 stands for cardboard blanks made of corrugated cardboard.

For what do you need cardboard blanks according to FEFCO 0110?

FEFCO 0110 cardboard blanks are very popular in the mail order business. These are some reasons for it:

Cushioning of the goods

First and foremost, FEFCO 0110 cardboard blanks are used to cushion gaps within the parcel. To ensure safe transport, the goods in the package must have as little clearance as possible. Cardboard blanks can be used to efficiently cushion larger areas in particular.

Separation of multiple layers

In addition, FEFCO 0110 cardboard blanks are well suited for separating multiple layers within the package. This way, the items stay where they belong. This is especially crucial for product presentation when the customer opens his package.

Protection from shocks

Another reason why FEFCO 0110 cardboard blanks are frequently used in the mail order business is the shock-absorbing function of the corrugated board. This means that fragile or particularly sensitive items in particular can be given additional protection to reduce the risk of damage during transport. 

Why is corrugated cardboard so suitable for shipping?

Corrugated cardboard is made of paper and is therefore sustainable, yet it has a higher robustness than normal paperboard. Other special features are:

Number of shafts
In the production of corrugated cardboard, a fluted blank is glued onto a thin paper. This creates cavities that make the corrugated cardboard so stable. Depending on how many corrugated layers are used, we speak of single-flute or double-flute corrugated cardboard. The higher the number of flutes, the more stable the product.

Shaft height
The height of the flutes also affects the robustness of the corrugated board. At packaging warehouse we use the following flutes for FEFCO 0110 cardboard blanks:

  • E-flute: The shafts have a height of 1.5 mm. This allows a surface load of up to 7 kg.
  • B-flute: Here, the shafts have a height of 3 mm. The maximum surface load is 14 kg.
  • EB-flute: The highest robustness is achieved with the combination of E and B flutes. The shafts are 4.5 mm high and can carry up to 30 kg surface load.

FEFCO 0110 custom cardboard blanks are one of our specialties - and here's how you do it:

  • Choose your desired quantity. Because we want to offer our service to small businesses, you can order from 10 pieces. The upper limit is 10,000 pieces.
  • Choose the desired format. Here you can choose between a minimum size of 50 x 50 mm and a maximum size of 2000 x 1500 mm completely free, what you need.
  • Decide on a material. You can choose from corrugated cardboard with E, B and EB flutes. You can also choose between the colors brown and white for your FEFCO 0110 cardboard blanks. 
  • Do you want your FEFCO 0110 cardboard blanks to be printed individually? Select "4/0-color Euroscale" in the next step.
  • The last thing you need to decide is how quickly you want your cardboard blanks to arrive. You can choose between Economy (14 working days), Standard (9 working days) and Express (5 working days) shipping.

How do you produce FEFCO 0110 cardboard blanks?

For a custom cut according to FEFCO 0110, the corrugated cardboard is first printed with your desired motif. Of course, this step is not necessary if you do not need a print. In this case you can choose between brown and white corrugated cardboard. Then your desired size is punched out of a large piece of cardboard.
