The Snap lock base is a folding box closure that is assembled mechanically and is suitable for heavier products (approx. 250-500 grams). Four different tabs are attached to the underside of the respective box type for this closure, which must be interlocked in a specific order. The weight of the product itself provides additional support for the plug-in base.
Advantages of snap lock bases
The snap lock base combines the respective advantages of the insert flap and the automatic base. This closure method combines the best of both options: it allows for easy manual assembly and is characterised by the high resistance of the interlocking flaps. Due to the manual closure of the flaps, the folding box with snap lock base is particularly suitable for small to medium quantities. Compared to folding boxes with crash lock bases, folding boxes with snap lock bases are more cost-effective as they only require one adhesive point and the folding box gluing machine can produce them at much higher speeds.
