What is a Doypack?

The doypack is one of the pouches. Alternatively, it is also referred to as a stand-up pouch. It is ideal as reusable packaging for food, PET food or clothing. It is lightweight, easy to open and can be resealed at any time.

However, the name Doypack is the original name for the flexible pouch packaging. It reminds us of the Frenchman Louis Doyen, who developed the first pouch of this type in 1963 and used it as packaging.

Actually, Doyen, who was then the director of a packaging factory located in St. Germain au Mont D'or, was looking for a packaging option for olives and fruit juices. The most important requirements for the new packaging: It should remain upright during transport and also on the sales shelf, and it should also be resealable and lighter than a conventional pot or bottle.

You can still see the result today - he succeeded impressively. Since then, Doypacks have become a real success story as a popular packaging solution across all continents. There are many good reasons why it is like this. First and foremost, there is the enormous flexibility that a Doypack offers you.

• Base (bottom): welded in between front and back; as a result, particularly strong and stable.

The free choice of format offers you the advantage that you can align the dimensions of your Doypack exactly to the dimensions or filling quantity of your products. This is what we mean by flexibility and individuality at packaging warehouse! Whether it's fruit, dried fruit, muesli, protein powder, potato chips, mixed nuts or even pet food, creams, ointments and other non-food items - with an individually designed Doypack you have the right and optimally suited packaging solution at hand for every occasion.

Our free formats are configurable within these minimum and maximum values:

We have the right material for every requirement

Not all stand-up pouches are the same. There are sometimes considerable differences in quality. This is primarily due to the materials used in each case. In our store you will only find doypacks made of high quality materials. This guarantees you a high level of product protection, an elegant appearance in noble style and a pleasant feel, regardless of your project.

Over half a dozen materials – choose your favorite

We use films as materials for our Doypacks, which have thicknesses between 95 and 125 μm. This guarantees optimum protection for your goods on the shelf, during transport and during storage. If you decide to use our monofilm, for example, you are also relying on a very high oxygen, moisture and aroma barrier. You can choose between pouches made of transparent or white foils. You can even equip the transparent version with a viewing window, which makes your products catch the eye at the POS.

Also very stable and more resistant is our Doypack made of 112 μm thick film composite (PET/EVOH/PE) in white or transparent. You want to present your products in a particularly natural way? Then we have the perfect solution for you with our pouches made of brown uncoated paper and PE. No matter which material you choose, in combination with an individual design and finishing, you will always make your Doypacks a strong customer experience.

Frequently asked questions about Doypacks

Question 1: How do I know which material is best suited to my packaged goods?

Answer: In this case we have the perfect solution for you: Simply order your personal sample box for flat pouches and Doypacks from us. In this box you will find various Doypacks in all the materials we have available. You can then look at and touch all the samples at your own leisure and without any time pressure. This way you get a sense for optics, haptics and the general value of our Doypacks in top quality at best prices.

Question 2: Is there anything I need to consider regarding the filling height of my pouch?

Answer: If you choose options like a tear-off tab or a zipper, this will affect the possible filling height of your pouch. If you choose a (Euro) hole, you have to subtract 16 mm from the total size of your Doypack. With a tear-off tab, the filling height is reduced by 21 mm. You have to factor in the biggest material loss for production, including the zipper. Here you lose 40 mm, but gain a strong selling point for your customers. If you configure a stand-up pouch in free formats, you can include the options and the associated material consumption directly in your calculations.

Question 3: Can I also order Doypacks with viewing window?

Answer: Unlike some other manufacturers, whose viewing windows are rather milky and not 100% transparent, at packaging warehouse we offer you pouches with 100% transparent window. However, the basic requirement for the configuration is the selection of a transparent material with a glossy surface.
